Big cougar!

I got this in a e-mail...

quote:Here is a photo of a cougar killed SW of Jet Oklahoma. The guy who shot it is 6 foot tall and weighs about 220 lbs. He was in a deer stand and saw the cat pass him downwind. He then saw it pass him upwind. When the cat passed him again (closer this time) downwind, he knew that it was hunting him. So, boom.

    Look at where the cougar's tail, and his hind legs, go across the man's feet. Looks kinda funny there.
    I have never seen a cougar, I don't know, might be legit.

    I thought a large male cougar weighed about 200lbs in the late fall. The guy holding that cat would have to be more ambitious than me to lift that much weight or more.

    i seriously doubt the cougar is that big. maybe the man is in fact 5'2 and 130 lbs ?

    +1 Ive seen it before, probably forwarded around the world in an email. ??? Looks like he is about 3 garage door panels tall. I measured the bottom 3 panels of my garage door to get some perspective. 4'11".

    Then I seriously doubt you've camped the High Sierras. Fed on a steady diet of mulies from
    cubhood, they get quite large. I've seen tracks every bit as big as that cat's.

    The photo is real and has not been through PhotoShop.

    wow! as if it isnt bad enough with bears running around in the bush there...now you got huge cats!..i would believe its real...ive killer feral cats as big as springer spaniel dogs here before, once they are a few generations in the wild and theres plenty of food they can grow BIG! and savage..they kill a lot of native animals here.

    I wonder where they actually shot it, since you can't hunt anything "near" Bellevue WA.

    Males have an average weight of about 115 to 160 pounds. In some cases they may reach over 260 lbs. Female average weight is between 75 and 105 lbs. Cougar size is smallest close to the equator, and larger towards the poles.
