...These people, from said countries offer and actually SELL a LOT of war relics, swords especially. Hell, in that part of the world for GENERATIONS they SPECIALIZE in FAKES...that a novice could not detect. Entire families specialize in making aged, gen-u-wine authentic fakes, mostly Jap, but there has been a big increase in German WWII item too.
...Much like the "authentic" guns sold in Afghan bizaars [^] My concern is for the smucks that buy this stuff then knowing/unknowingly sell it as authentic...the item than begins to circulate thru the collector groups/market place. I figure it's the buyers problem for NOT knowing their "stuff".Too bad, not sad for the un-informed buyer..."reading", "learning" is free or cheap...and easy.

I've got an Eotech clone made by Huricane for my 22lr. I've seen Eotech replicas complete with the Eotech emblem. They do not have the non-reflective coating on the glass and when you shake them you can hear the glass rattle.
Those would be fine on a plinker like a GSG-5, but certainly not a combat optic by any stretch of the imagination.0 -
