Another Travis Funny
Dawnie doesn't sleep as soundly as I do, and the other morning, she heard Travis come in the house and go to his room about 3:00 a.m.
Around 5:00, she got up to let the dogs out to potty, and noticed that Travis' truck was here. Travis doesn't sleep here often, but he keeps his clothes here. His door was shut and his room was dark at that time.
Around 10:00, Dawnie had to leave for a couple of hours. Travis' door was still shut, his light was off, and his truck was here.
Around 12:00, Dawnie came home, and found Travis in the utility room doing laundry. When he saw Dawnie, he went pale. He had forgotten that she isn't working now, and he really didn't expect to see her, and he said so. Travis had a look on his face as though he had been caught doing something terribly wrong. [B)]
Dawnie went into the kitchen to make some coffee, and presently she became aware that two people were standing behind her, Travis and a girl. Travis introduced the two, and Dawnie was cool about it. "Dawn, this is Ashley. Ashley, Dawn." [;)]
Dawnie described her to me but I didn't know her. She said Ashley had strawberry blonde hair and was a nice looking girl. [:)]
A few mornings later, I was paying for my coffee at a local restaurant, and the cashier was a young pretty girl with strawberry blonde hair and a fading hickey on her neck. Her name tag read, "Ashley." I pulled my jacket asided so she could see my name tag, and I asked her if that name meant anything to her. She got red in the face, and said, "Yes. I'm going with your son." [:0]
I told her it was nice to finally meet her, since I had heard so much about her. [;)]

Yes, my little boy has grown up. He's done his deed for Uncle Sam, been across the big water, been shot at and shot back. He's in school full-time, National Guard part-time, and will soon start a full-time job with L-3 Communications. He and two of his knothead buddies are looking for a house to rent. 0 -
It's good to hear that Travis is doing well. Best regards to him and his academic pursuits. Who knows. Maybe you'll have a strawberry-blonde daughter-in-law soon. 0 -

Well at least you didn't ask her if she knows him, then explain that your checking up on him and his probation. My uncle walked in to WAL-Mart while in uniform and asked for his son, who was working in sporting goods. He then procedes to make up some BS to the Ass. Mgr about him before identifying himself as the father.
My cousin was not very appreciative of that, but we all got a laugh.0 -
