Shoulder Holster?

Seems to me, the only holsters I remember reading about were weak-side, crossdraw types, or pommel holsters. Never ran across any shoulder rigs.

    Were shoulder holsters used during the Civil War? I know Josey Wales had one but that was a movie.

    Yes. Bill Anderson carried 4 revolvers. John Mosby's troops carried 4 on their person, 2 on the saddle and a Spencer. (If they could afford it)

    Dixie gunworks has their "Josey Wales" shoulder holster. 160.00 I remember a company in California that had a "Doc Holliday" for 70.00.

    Can't remember the name, sorry. Just google it.

    In 1862 Gen. Sibley took his Army of New Mexico out of Texas and North thru New Mexico on his way to California! Just North of Santa Fe, NM. four of his men were captured while on picket duty. The Yanks were shocked as they took "9 good Colts Revolvers and four Maynard Carbines from these four men". Two wearing shoulder holsters.
