Load for Encore 209x50
I bought some Precision Rifle Ultimate Conicals in 50cal 450 grain. I started with 70 grains and got up to 90 grains of loose Triple Seven before I ran out of shooting time. At 25 yards they were not even close to being a tight group. My question is should I try to go higher in grains of powder or what?....Bull

I shoot a 250 grain bullet and I am at 110 grins loose 777. With a 450 grain bullet you need to increase powder or you'tt have no energy behind the bullet. 0 -
80gr. Triple Seven FFFG loose powder, pushing a 200gr. ShockWave sabot. Good medicine. Go on a diet. Loose some weight. 0 -
2-50 grain pyrodex pellets behind a 240 gr hollow point 44 xtp hornady saboted projo 0 -
i would check with T/C and see if the Encore has the correct rate of twist for those Ccnicals 0 -
I've been converted. Saturday I was at the range, shooting the 200m range and achieved 1.5" grps. using the Blackhorn 209,90g., atop this was a 200g,poly-tipped SHOCKWAVE Sabot.
This medicine beats my earlier combination, HANDS DOWN.0 -

That is a HUGE bullet to big IMO
Since moving to Colorado, I have used 80gr 777 and 275 gr maxi hunter on deer and 90gr 777 and 350gr maxi hunter for elk.0 -
100 grs. Pyrodex RS,under a 250gr. T/C Shockwave,and a CCI 209 primer.
Very Accurate, and will put the SMACKDOWN on any Whitetail.0
