Three hours into bow season..........
and I filled my first tag today! I made it into my treestand about 30 minutes before sun-up and had about twenty five whitetails below me within two hours. I didn't take the largest buck, but it is a nice 4x5. I wish it was cooler weather, as dry curing isn't going to work in my 55+ degree garage. Had to take it to our local butcher to hang for the next 7-10 days. They will also process it for me and package it all up. What a great start to the 2008 hunting season! Going after a cinnamon "blackie" next weekend. [^]

PS: I'll post some photos of the mount when I get it back around March/April.

Good shooting!
First time I ever went deer hunting, I was 15, took me 15 to 30 minutes to arrow a buck. Thinking to myself this is easy. Didn't shoot anything again for 3 years....0 -
