SIU is doing a deer study around Lake Shelbyville. They started either last year or the year before that. Took a drive thru Wilborn Access area last night and wow. One herd of 6 all had ear tags. All but one had a collar on also. In all I counted about 15 with either or both.

  I'm not really sure. A friend at work lives by there and has talked to them. I think they are just trying to figure the travel habits out. Last fall one was killed by Springfield which is @60+ miles away. Another was killed @35 miles away. He was told that they don't stray to far until Aug-Sept. I saw one last winter across the lake from where they are tagging them.
