Trail cameras
Need user experience with trail cameras. I have seen nothing but poor reviews on the stealth cam 540IR. Don't want to waste time and money on a poor unit. Suggestions needed if you use a unit your happy with. How about the Moultrie Game spy 4.0 IR? Looking for moderate price with quick triggering. BBQGUY

[?] Do any of you guys use trail cameras for scouting and have you had much luck with them??[?] 0 -
I use a moultree. They;re a little bulky and hard to get fastened to a tree but they work just as well. Mine was a little cheaper as well. 0 -
i have 3 of the Moultrie and they all work fine but i will say this you get what you pay for the triger time is not the best but if you set them up right then your ok
I cant see spending the big bucks for the better cams when the Moultrie's do what i need them to/
see if you can look up user name clayehunter on photobuckt and you can see a few of the pic i have taken with mine

Or take the time to build your own...hard to beat the homebrew quality.0 -
I bought a leaf river cam over 5 years ago and I get over 2,000 pictures on one battery life. Seems battery life is pretty weak on some other brands. My dad has gone through several cameras and finally bought a leaf river as well. I am happy with mine. I will bump a few pics from this forum to show you quality.

Buckeyboy; What kind of camera? Did the flash seem to spook deer? If it was homemade how do you make it? BBQGUY 0 -

I second the Leaf River cameras and the battery life is hard to believe...then again, it is summer time. We'll see how they react to the bitter cold spells this winter.
Buckey is on to something though. How much you gotta have for one of those, Buckey? I've been thinking about another camera0
