My Iowa "Monster"
This is my favorite forum on GB so I figured I'd drop back here and share my Iowa monster from the opening weekend of the early Iowa Muzzleloader season (Columbus Day Weekend). I took it with my T/C Omega and not a bow but I figured I'd share it with y'all. This could be my last year hunting Iowa being that I'm moving to Georgia in 2009. It's not impressive but I was happy considering it was the last few hours of the last day of my hunt.

I gave up the deer stand tactic after one morning and two afternoons of seeing absolutely nothing from three different deer stands. I went with the spot-and-stalk approach which proved to be more fruitful considering the high temps of Columbus Day weekend and the fact that the corn was still in the fields giving the deer a place to lay low in the heat.
This hunt is, once again, courtesy of a friend that I initially met here on Gunbroker. This was the first set of horns that I've taken home from a hunt but I didn't feel that they justified a shoulder mount. The head is at the taxidermist right now for a european mount.0 -

Nice goin'. Any buck taken spot & stalk is a trophy, even if it's a doe![:0][;)][^] Which is probably what I'll end up taking. Gotta have the meat! 0 -
Are you going to hunt the late season muzzle loader season? opens up here on dec. 22. I'm down south of harlan, but hunt alot over by guthrie center also. They hand out doe tags like candy over there. 0
