    Possession of full autos ..federally ..is possible for individuals if the 200 dollar tax is paid and the rest of the hoops are jumped through.

    States vary in their requirements ..some totally ban full auto weapons.

    MY understanding of the parts situation;
    You may NOT possess full auto parts AND the platform they fit without the tax stamp.

    Not even in different parts of the house, garage, ect. At least ..that is the measures I personally take for my own protection.
    Own no full auto parts compatible with the black rifles I own.

    "Technically" as Highball said, you can NOT have the parts and the firearm they fit, at the same time. AS OF NOW.

    Since the "Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986" became law, NO NEW machine guns can be owned by citizens. If it was not a registered machine gun in 1986, you can NOT make it (parts kit, or otherwise) or possess it.

    The BATF, in their infinite wisdom (who at one time, classified a "SHOE STRING" as a machine gun) has, in the past changed their minds on what is legal, and what is not.

    The BATF allowed certain receivers to be imported, then changed their minds, saying they were machine guns. (or capable of being one) They tracked down the buyers, through distributors records. The buyers were told to send these receivers in.

    Will the BATF AGAIN change their minds, concerning these parts kits?
    We shall see.
