Yup. Used to walk fish a series of small (2k sq ft to 3k sq ft) ponds that were almost in a chain... but not connected. Severe lilly pad problem, the frogs with *heavy* mono line worked great. Had to have a serious pool stick of a pole, 30lb test line, and a reel to match, just to deal with a bass that grabs it and wraps around the 'pads. Lots of fun to see the big explosion strikes coming up - more impressive than a top water hit in open water (like on a zara spook, etc)

Using the floating worms in the same fashion works well too...

This is the kind I've used - http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_37017_100007008_100000000_100007000_100-7-8

But there are many similar, including soft ones (like worms, but froggie shaped)

I've always been partial to Scum Frog brand to work in the pad fields. The hook on these guys are close to the body and kinda stick up off to the sides of the soft rubber. Just like ya'll mentioned can't lose the one I use.
Would like to know what other brands and colors ya'll are using????
