Gday Iwanna...thanks for tossing this up on the forums mate, good to see someone else remembers some nasty sacrifices that other nations had to make during world history.
Just for the uninformed, ANZAC is short for Australia and New Zealand Army Corps, coined mainly during WW I. Both nations have very impressive battle honours from the 1st and 2nd world wars, along with Korea, Vietnam and everything since then and the Boer war prior to all of it. If you want to do some research have a sniff around for Gallipoli, El Alamein, Tobruk and all of the major 1st WW battles, somme etc featured outstanding performances from the ANZACS, and in todays volatile world you can see the southern cross (shoulder flags) in Afghanistan, Iraq and other nasty areas of the world where they continue to serve with honour.
ANZAC day is the 25th of April every year, it is our version of the American memorial day, which I am sure most of you would be pleased to know that Australia and New Zealand have massive street parades in every town and city and have massive public turn out and support in memory of the blokes who fell to keep them free and and Aussie (or Kiwi).

    Cheers guys!

There are only a couple of the old ANZAC's marching in the parades nowdays, a lot of the guys from WWII and Vietnam, they are shrinking too, but there are a lot of new ANZAC's being forged and I am sure they will continue to march with pride!
