Outstanding Soldier
Just wanted to pass on some good news. One of my former soldiers who I deployed to Iraq with in 2003 was awarded the Silver Star today at Ft. Bliss, TX. He was on his third tour the last time with the 4/1 Cav. What makes this so important to me was that when I met this young man, he was heading down the wrong road and it didnt look like he would be in the Army very long. After many hours of counseling and just talking to him, he decided to make the military a career. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart for the injuries he sustained. He's doing great now, very grounded and level-headed soldier. Just wanted to pass this on to men and women I feel could relate!!
