Hot Bait!

Well, you can spend a lot of money in the store for store-bought baits or you can offer up what the fish are going to take. On a trip to E. Matagorda Bay about 9 days ago, I went with two of my sons. They started catching bait fish in the 6-10" range with a cast net. It was a lot of work, but worth it. We limited out on Redfish (9 fish 21-28")and caught 7 Speckled Trout in the +/- 6 lb/ size. Had lawn chairs out on an oyster reef with a ice chest full of cold beer, rods set in rod holders, life is good!

  I've done this in S. Carolina but bait fish were only 3''-4'' long! I'm jealous . . . .
