Looks like a great hunt !!!!! I have to try and hunt some hogs in the future.....My fear is we will start seeing them on our property in the next several years as they are being seen within 40 to 50 miles of us..

What firearm/load were you all using ??

How many are you allowed to take? Those look like some nice ones!

Nice Poland China! I keep trying to get invited on one of those affairs, but it never seems to work out. The pigs hear I am coming and clear out. They supposedly are in NM, and I have seen one feral pig crossing a road almost at the Mexican border. Too bad I was snake hunting with a snake hook and no rifle. No season or limit on them here, but they are darn hard to find, which is probably as good as we are going to see. The fellow in that first photo looks a lot like my late Navajo hunting partner. Good memories, thanks.😊

Unless it is a canned hunt I would Imagine one could "lights out" as many porkers as you could get a good shot at.

Sorry Don, that one is very unfunny.

I was spring turkey hunting and a hog came between me and my decoys so now he is in my freezer along with two others from this spring.

    Great hunting!

Now on a semi related subject, I'll share what I saw yesterday. In our local butcher shop I saw packages of "Ground wild boar". Underneath that it said (From Farrell swine). Price was $7.99/lb.😮

There are no rules on feral hog hunting in Texas. You don't even need a license. Day or night no limit. I shoot a 6.5-06 with 53 grains RL19 and 120 grain Barnes XLC projectiles. My Father shoots a 270 with 60 grains of H-4831and 130 grain Barnes TSX. We are a big fan of Barnes products.

BUT, there is little public land in Texas, so a furriner needs access, and that, it seems, costs.
