I think you need a crossbow scope, because of the reverse recoil? I have an old Horten but I shoot a ten point scope.

Mine has the multi lines but, it’s not a 20, 30, 40 yard thing with mine.

I plan on putting on one of these before next year.

Mine came with an el cheapo scope with yardage lines, it's killed many deer and never lost zero. I don't really think you need to spend big bucks for a crossbow scope, you aren't shooting very far.

What the heck do you need a scope for a crossbow for? Are you going to varmint hunt with it?

The scope that came with my Barnett had 4 lines but none matched the trajectory of the bolts I used. I changed to a different scope brand that happens to be a closer match.

The scope on my Excalibur crossbow has 20,30,40,50,and 60 lines. Using the bolt weight that they recommended the lines are exactly on. The scope is meant for a crossbow as the recoil ( lack of a better word) is totally different than a gun.

If it is reverse recoil then an air rifle scope would work.

Many of the new(er) crossbows don't even have the option of use w/o an optic. My Barnett is over 10 years old and even it has scope mount only. Front sights on a crossbow are problematic at best.

Lots of the crossbow scopes are way overpriced.

They look good in the store or on a sunshiny day but when sunlight goes away so does the scope.

Cannot see through most of them overpriced crossbow scopes at early and late prime time hours.

Several of the crossbow scopes with the lighted reticle or dot are a joke. Does not do any good to have a lighted reticle or dot if all you can see is the reticle and if the scope does not gather enough light to see the animal at prime time hours all you see is the pretty red or green color inside the scope.

For several years I just use a low power rifle scope on my crossbows with no problems 2x power or 1.5-4 area and I do not need several reticles or dots for out to 40 yards for a 350-400FPS crossbow for hunting whitetail deer. (prefer Leupold scopes)

Some people think a crossbow is deadly on animals out to 40 yards and their is no way the animal is going to live after the shot because my crossbow is deadly on targets in the back yard and think they need a scope with 4-6 reticles or dots to reach out to 60-100 yards, these type crossbow people have never hunted very many really wild whitetail deer, type deer that are afraid of and flinch their own shadow. With hunting experience these type crossbow archers will find that they are still launching an arrow, not a bullet.

If you cannot see what you are shooting at through the crossbow scope at prime time hunting hours you might as well stay home or only hunt when the Blue Birds are active.

I have a 10 point scope that came with the bow. Works well, main horizontal line is right on at 15 yds and I’ve taken deer at 20. Buts that’s about all I’m confident to try. I get through and throughs there and don’t want to chase anything.

Now if I can just get retired before deer season!

This description of low light conditions is precisely why I use a compact rifle scope, and have for years. Had a red dot and hated it for reasons above.

My current setup is a 1.5-10 power that I keep on 4 for all situations unless I want to glass something at a long distance.

If you are shooting at leaves for targets, its tough to see if you hit them without a scope!
