If you put everybody on free health insurance then what do you expect? I can see overweight treatment being next. From cradle to grave care is coming. The Democrats in the government is wanting to spend another 7 trillion dollars on social welfare for all.Biden is a socialist puppet elected for The NWO.

I remember back on the old forum- let's say 15 years ago, we had a vocal group of members who were fixated on what they declared were "smokers rights." What happened to those folks? Are they all dead from lung cancer and emphysema? In any case, I haven't heard a lot of pro smoking comments in the forums of late.

to me every one can do what they want . I agree on no smoking in some settings where second hand smoke can possibly hurt non smokers

I watched my dad . one sister the only brother I had all my uncles, many cousins and countless close friends all die from cancer all of them smoked , so I have no soft spot for it . from my experience its not a pleasant way to go, not there is such a thing but cancer is a heart breaking for family to watch some one just wither away and die and of course the one dyeing from it

( obvious there is exceptions my departed MIL was about 80 smoked like a freight train but other health issues and old age got her )

my dad stopped smoking just cold turkey one day after I got on him about living to see his grand kids at least come into the world maybe spend a little time with them but too late 50 + (he started when he was 9 or 10 yrs old ) years of smoking was already working he just did not know it but he tried

I tried as a young kid to smoke to be part of the gang but could not stand it and I had enough 2nd hand smoke as a kid to kill dozens of lab rats . so far I am lucky but I am also the last one above ground of all my early buddies that were like brothers to me are all gone RIP and I think of them all often

my wife tells me she has seen a big increase in younger people smoking at work . and 20.00 to 27.00 a pack that's a expensive habit

Just a test for the Biden banning hammer. Our guns are also on the top of his list.

Those of us who smoke these days do our best to keep our profiles low. The established leper colonies we have been put into are now so far out in the sticks that many in the general population think we are extinct.

Probably the beating a dead horse, thing, Mark. Not a huge fan of smoking, but I don't see why governments believe they have the power to stop a bar owner from allowing smoking in his establishment if he chooses.

During the transition phase of this lunacy, some bars banned smoking and some allowed it. Those that did not want to deal with smoke when to a non-smoking bar, and those that wanted to have a smoke with their beer went to a smoking bar. The free market worked perfectly, no one was exposed who did not want to be exposed.

The magical Covid has empowered governments to become our helicopter parents, and it is, frankly, anti-American.

where I use to work they set up smoking areas in the plant then out side also LOL inside was like a Plexiglas cage in a zoo looked like a indoor fog when break or lunch came around they finally did improve them with vents and fans . but still the smokers are on display . even out doors like a covered bus stop area for the smokers to huddle up in

I always thought " look mommy smokers in that display "

Don McManus sir you nailed it! The problem with having non-smoking bars along with smoking bars was the bars that still allowed smoking were successful and the non-smoking ones not so much. This made the non-smokers go to the successful bars because they were the place to be, and yet since they were non-smokers they bitched ("female dog" ed) until they got what they wanted, all bars non-smoking... The free market works until the government decides it doesn't...
