Be careful who you get in a fight with. You never know.
It's been about 50yrs ago, an elderly Japanese man in his 80's arrived at a Fresno hotel, to officiate a west coast Judo Championship match. Before he could enter the lobby, 4 punks tried to mug him. He left all 4 rolling on the sidewalk in extreme pain. He had been a world champion for several decades. When the police arrived, they had a hard time cuffing the 4, because they were all laughing so hard.

could have told you that. "ya never know". seen plenty of dudes that I know can scrap, but they looked like average Joe; met some that looked tough but weren't.

hung around lots of big dudes, tough dudes, and big tough dudes, and the toughest ones of all never were the biggest nor really looked like it.

met several boxers, kickboxers, MMA and such in all the jobs I had and you would never know until they said something about it.

Yes, several videos of him on the second link. Thank you for linking that.

Mad respect for this Dude. You would never guess this stuff, sitting with him at lunch for over a year. Crazy.

Honestly, those are the kind of people I respect most. The ones that don't brag about what all they've done. This is particularly true for military personnel and fighters.
My optometrist was a highly decorated college wrestler at arguably the highest regarded university for wrestling. He certainly has the muscular build of one but never spoke about it. I used to do I.T. work for him too so spent a fair amount of time around him. I only found out about it after 15+ years. Most polite, unassuming guy you'd meet.

Spoke to my Buddy today at lunch. Told him I had watched a couple of his fights.

His only comment was, "Where did you find those?"

Shook his hand, told him "Mad Respect. Crazy."

You are correct DirtyDawg. He was on the team with the great Randy Couture (of UFC MMA fame).

They supposedly have a really great wrestling museum there as well but I have never been. I'll have to check it out sometime when we go up to see my mother-in-law who lives in Stillwater.

When I managed a Hotel in town my bartender was a little skinny guy. He won the Charleston tough man contest, beat them all big and small. I watched him in the final amazing skills and super fast.
