all these numbers.......
that are being thrown around with virus compared to the plain flu, swine flu, and other flues. I saw in another post I think it was Ikanns? who said it best you can't compare the numbers realistically because the virus numbers are taken with the current social distancing and lock down in place. The flu numbers were taken with an open economy and no restrictions and the are basically the same. what would the number have been had we not gone on current restrictions 10x worse? 30x worse, hopefully we will never know. as to the severity itself I won't begin to comment on that as other posters have family and friends involved and I don't want to make light or seem to make light of the severity of the situation. Hopefully we can keep the fighting and bickering over the current situation to a minimum and hope things get back to normal as soon as possible

I am always interested when the discussion revolves about getting back to normal.
I believe this.
"Social distancing", "groups of no more than 10", "immunization papers", "essential workers", "masks in public", "not shaking hands", etc will be the new normal.
Either because doing it decreased the projected deaths and we need to continue it

We didn't do it well enough and decrease the deaths we had and therefore we must continue doing it - only more of it.

A lot of people always jump to conclusions before all the facts are gathered. Comparing fatality numbers between covid19 and last year's flu is an apples to oranges comparison due to the social distancing. Another unknown is infection rates. We now get reports that it is likely that there have been millions of covid infections that had no symptoms. Since there was no widespread testing for last year's flu, how can some say covid19 is more contagious? Perhaps there were millions of cases last year with no symptoms as well. My condolences and prayers for all who have had their life impacted by this disease. Be as prudent as you think you need to be and stay safe. A year from now we will have more facts on this event and be better able to draw intelligent conclusions. Don't be a negative statistic in those conclusions. Bob 3 -
and the kansas gov has refused to show deaths in counties or cities ...just cases incurred or some other igures .....guess kansans are not tough enuff to absorb the numbers of fatalities relevant to their location....information i deem relevant to my safety decisions 0
