The POTUS announced this only hours after he refused pelosi access to a government jet to go on her little excursion... Which is tomatoes just about enough time for pelosi to go request an audience with Trump and then pelosi got her knees begging to go on her vacation. Which Trump said you can go as soon as we get the wall built...
My bet is pelosi caved so that she could go on her vacation sooner than later...0 -
I was wondering if he would shut the borders down until Mexico starts hurting for business and they would build the wall. He did campaign on that. 0 -
I don't think Trump is going to announce a National Emergency to build the wall. The court challenges are already written up, and I'm sure "Hawaii Judge" is ready to put an injunction in place immediately.
My guess is that he is announcing additional personnel will head to the border.

Shut down the borders, stop all immigration, deport all illegals, rescind DACA and have them sign up for a green card.
Heck I wouldn't mind having all the illegals sent to the border and used to build the wall as punishment for crossing the border.0 -

I am for all of that Sam.
(Except) The Wall will only have limited success. Can and will be overcome, unless it has towers with a shoot on sight order for those crossing a No Mans Land strip. (Better than no physical barrier though.)
Personally, I am for a 300-500 yard strip of anti-personnel mines. Single strand of barbed wire on each side, warnings in multiple languages. Leave them lay as warnings to others.
Never happen in a million years. (But) That is the answer. IMHO.0
