Serial number says made in 1944.
The stamp means a 10% parts check, it was one of the 10% that got checked in that production lot.

I thought it was produced in 1944. That side plate number is different than the barrel and frame serial number of ZE1618 though:
    ry%3D400

And those 10% marks appear in several more places. Does it seem odd that so many parts were in the 10% that were checked? In addition to the trigger and side plate above, they also appear on the barrel:
    ry%3D480

    cylinder retaining cam:
    ry%3D480

    cylinder:
    ry%3D480

    extractor lever:
    ry%3D480

    and latch:
    ry%3D480

    There may be more.

Rob, I'm no expert on them, just knowledge gained from researching one for a friend. The ZE prefix was also for 1944, they went to ZH, and that extended into 1945. As to the 10%, I can't tell you if it was 10% of that particular item, or 10% of the completed guns.
