I'll be using my stimulus to help my youngest son who is out of work without any hope for unemployment.

I agree completely with what waltermoe said.  The stimulus monies should be only going to those whose income was affected by them shutting down businesses and the owners/employees losing income.   I also think the stimulus monies should be in some type of voucher for food, rent, mortgage, utilities.  Instead, there will be a bunch of new clothes, $1k cell phones and non-essential stuff bought.  But the politicians didn't have the balls to let only the workers/businesses who income was affected receive it.  It would have been political suicide to do it.

I would like to remind you, government makes nothing, they have to take from someone, to give to others.

I know that my wife and I decided that we would spend all of our "stimulus money" on local businesses. We're going to order pick-up or delivery from local restaurants and buy a bunch of household supplies from the local hardware store.

Are you having fun trying to get EIDL and PPP loans for your clients?

I still am wondering exactly how many really need it.
Eggg•zacktly. On the IRS website it is called an Economic Impact Payment. SSDI recips are eligible. An in-law's daughter in state care (since she was 5) will get a payment. And zero E.I. from da'Vis. The in-law herself, zero E.I. but "wants her check" because, Gawd-darn, everybody else is getting theirs . . .

Me, I'll take it if it is offered. Wish I could say, like HeDog, it ain't coming, but it may be. Right into my IRA, eventually to my youngest niece. Who is, after all, on the hook for our stupidity.

The stimulus money they are giving to me amounts to a pop corn fart, compared to how much they have taken from me in taxes.
    I want mine.

One other note:  People need to look at debt from a historic perspective beginning with the ancient Greeks and the Romans when debt was first being recorded up thru the spoils of both world wars.

For the past ten days or so, I have been fielding more questions and assisting them with the application process than I have had time to wrap up taxes.  The bankers who are doing the PPP loans tell me the rules have changed several times over what can be used and what period of payroll, etc is needed toward the PPP loan calculation.  One banker tells me they need certain things and another banker tells me "no, we don't need that, we need this.".  A lot of businesses use "contract labor" instead of employees.  Whether they follow the employee vs independent contractor guidelines or not, they still handle them as contract labor.  Contract labor does not help the business on their PPP loans.  Those independent contractors have to file for their own.  Good thing the tax deadline was pushed back to July.

What Sig220 said: It doesn't matter if YOU need it or not, really. Your local economy sure as hell does. So take it, spend it, and maybe, just maybe, that store will be able to stay open for the duration  and get back to normal after.
My "pheasant" isn't "effected" either (sic)

I will use it to replenish my emergency fund saving that has been hit due to the fact I have not received a dime in unemployment now.....going in three weeks with zero income.

I can only imagine what most CPA's are going through.  I applied for our business for a PPP loan, as now it looks like we may not have any county fairs this year.  My bank is a POS they are using Kabbage instead of the bank doing the work.  Kabbage is the next POS as they want a 2019 tax return, which I won't have for awhile.  In addition I filled out all of the applications as prescribed by the SBA and the Kabbage is making up there own rules instead of using the prescribed SBA form.  I have spoken with many of my concession friends and their banks are also ignoring the SBA rules and making up their own rules.  I think we will survive but I also have many friends in brick and mortar restaurants that might not survive.

Has anybody received any stimulus money?  Know anyone who has?

    Yes

I checked my bank account last night (4/11/2020) and I have a $1200 deposit pending from the IRS.  Looks like it will be effective 4/15/2020.

This is what is showing in my account:

ACH CR Eff 04/15/2020 IRS TREAS 310 TAX REF   $1,200.00

Same here.  Am saving "didn't get a check" as a response to all those "pay your fair share" weenies that pop up around election time.

$2400 pending in my checking account, to be processed on the 15th. Don't really need it, will be looking for a local charity or two to donate to. There is a local furniture manufacturer making and giving masks, both one time use and reusable, to the first responders and hospitals. I'm going to contact them and give them some $$ to help buy the materials they are using.

I had a dream last night that the gov't put a few extra zero's on the left side of the decimal with my supposed incoming deposit!   Woke up feeling a bit happier than I usually do!  :D

Our $2400.00 will be deposited to our account on Wednesday. Our oldest grand-daughter is just finishing her sophmore year of at MSU. Her summer internship has already fallen through, so we're giving our funds to her. It's a drop in the bucket compared to what she'd have earned, but she is industrious and will likely find something gainful to do this summer.

There is no way that any federal employees could design & implement a computer system change in < 3 weeks, AND STILL FOLLOW THE RULES & REGULATIONS.  This was obviously done as a "quick & dirty" approved by the Secretary of the Treasury.
Folks may get the correct amount, maybe not; it doesn't matter, the Draft Dodger will brag about the great job he did.  I think that there are many groups (definitely those who didn't file a tax return with direct deposit) who will not get checks for several months.  Let's wait & see.

Wife is going to check he account shortly, she knows how to do on line banking. Don't have a clue how to access my SS direct deposit account, might be there. Friend that works at local builders supply got his over the weekend, he E files his taxes and gets direct deposit refunds. I will ask him if it has been verified.

Working every day since I have an 'essential' job. Don't need a check, but I will certainly take it. I like GunBroker, bought a ton of ammo and quite a few guns here, so I would like to help out a seller here with the purchase of a Colt 1911A1 .45 auto.  I have a Combat Commander in .38 Super and several .45 ACP revolvers, but I have never owned a Colt .45 auto. I even have a name picked out; I will call it the 'STIMULATOR'!
But if I don't get a check I may buy one anyway.

Online banking shows a pending deposit for $3400 for 4-15-20. Not spending it on frivolous stuff though.

Haven't received it, but already gave mine to a couple of folks who needed it.
