So what's in your garden??
14 tomato sets, 12 yellow and red bell pepper sets, 1 Carolina reaper, 2 cayenne peppers and 1 jalapeno pepper. Cilantro, dill and basal. Red skin potatoes. Getting one bed around for the June 15th to July 1st planting of 16 to 20 tomatoes that I will be starting from seed. The goal is to have tomatoes all the way to a hard killing frost in late fall. Some years this works, some years it doesn't. Last year it worked perfectly. We ate our last fresh tomato very close to Dec. 1st! The Boss said we will plant 1 or 2 egg plants. I'll be planting some Bronco green beans maybe tomorrow. If you haven't tried Broncos and you like green beans give them a try. My nursery guy recommended them as the best he knew and I agree with him.
This is in the Upstate of South Carolina. I'm guessing you Montana guys might be a week or two behind me.

I cut way-way back this year, running out of freezer space, we planted only tomato's, cucumbers, squash, okra and all kinds of peppers. Corn, pea's and beans are cheaper to buy at a nearby state farmers market than I can plant/grow them........less bending over to pick...plus they're already shelled too

FCD, here is about a week's progress. First time using it.

FCD, its aeroponics with a pump. The lights provide 360 light so they don't have to rotate. There is a timer for the lights and the pump. This is the apartment sized version and is on wheels for relocating should you want to do so. The bottom (well) holds 13 gallons of water when full. Initial set up comes with everything you see here to include the minerals for the water, ph tester and balancers, siphon hose, seeds and sprouting medium (trays, vermiculite, and rockwool). Can grow a wide range of veggies. For my initial trial I'm just using what came with it. 0 -
I don't know comparative wise to a DIY, but as I have gotten into retirement mode I want out of the box easy. Lol.
With that being said it isn't cheap. Does come in a 12 month installment plan without interest. I will keep you posted on progress. Son is a distributor so I bought mine from him.

Two egg plant sets went in this afternoon. Perfect timing! 30 minutes after planting it started raining! 0 -
Susie, is that one of those indoor pot growing thing-a-ma-jiggies?? I pondered on that a moment, seems like a good way to suppliment retirement income! Maybe I should look in to this!!
