.455 Webley Mark VI 1918 with R.A.F. markings
I'm interested in finding out the history of my unaltered Mark VI Webley, and also wouldn't mind finding out a little something about its value. Does anyone here know where one might look to find out where and when this pistol served in the British military, perhaps even to whom it may have been issued?
The pistol is in good condition. I shoot it occasionally. Have a few boxes of old ammo, both military issue from WWII times and a couple of nice boxes of vintage Kynoch and Dominion cartridges.
Altogether it makes a nice kit, and I'm hugely fond of this sweet-shooting pistol. But I wonder if its value is above the ordinary (The RAF stamps seem to be unusual). Anyone out there care to comment?

I saw RIC markings, not RAF. That could add some additional collector value, besides being un-altered and in good shape. I'll look more later.I'll post some pics soon as I get a few mins. Time short this moment. It's marked "R.A.F."

I also had a unaltered one years ago. Most unfortunately, have had their cylinders machined. So that they will chamber 45 ACP. Using half moon clips.I'm familiar with the usual shaved cylinder. Too bad so many were ruined that way. Mine is not shaved. Cylinder face retains its markings and it shoots the .455 ammo, which I reload routinely. I'll get you those photos gladly! Must defer that for an hour or two, have a guest here. Thanks!!

Other then light pitting on barrel, appears to be original and in VG condition. Haven't had mine since the 90's. And the asking price, of the few I have see in recent years. Have been upwards of 4 figures. Weather they are actually selling for that. I don't honestly know?
I kind of suspicion, that this chinese crud outbreak of 2020. Has thrown the proverbial monkey wrench, into the collectable firearms marketplace. Only folks willing to spring big bucks, are going to be the bottom feeders. Looking for a "motivated" seller. So that they can steal stuff.0
