mailman just left.........

 came up to the door with 3 boxes of Junk the wife had ordered they were to big to fit in mailbox. We are friends from high school, he couldn't talk as he said he was in a hurry, said his truck looked like christmas, guess everyone is sitting at home ordering things with their free money..........  he said his route would me at least hour longer today because of the package deliveries

    I know I've been ordering a lot of aquarium related items lately including live fish. Between last week and next week I'll be getting at least 15 packages.

    It seems like everywhere I go these days there is an Amazon truck on the road or parked on the road.  I still try to buy as much local and many of our local stores are trying to adapt with online sales and curbside pickup.  It seems to be working as I have made several purchases in the last week and no problems making the purchase or pick up.

    Personally, I have not been spending any $$ I do not have to. (Beyond Beer.)

    I am making this an exercise in frugality. I am lucky my house and vehicles are paid for, or I would be screwed.

    Agree Ken. We’re working without interruption, but that could change in the blink of an eye. All I have is a mortgage and regular bills, but I will owe fed tax I know and a pretty big property tax bill shows up at the end of July. I keep putting money aside as I can in the event things go sideways.

    That's not what his snoopervisor will say when he tries to fill out his overtime slip. "You're going by there anyway, drop them off on your way by." They are taught a long list of such statements. "It takes less time to deliver in the rain (snow) because you are in a hurry to get out of the weather."

    Excellent way better then UPS  or FED/EX. and much cheaper as well. I've receiver 6 lots of different fish and shrimp and so far lost only one shrimp. They usually ship them in a Styrofoam lined box with a heat pack inserted. They can last nearly week in that environment.  USPS treats them much better then the other two, and they are kept in a climate controlled room.  Now there are some shippers that require over night shipping  usually around $65 a box compared to about $10 for USPS Priority mail. The big thing most shippers require is that the entire route that the packages go must be at least 40 degrees,

    They must have it down to a fine art by now. I had real good luck 40 years ago with hard to find freshwater fish like Discus and some of the more uncommon African cichlids. Bob

    Well my mailman came today and I went out to his vehicle to save him from lugging 5 more boxes up to the door.
