took boat out again..........
got new battery and new fishing pole, so decided to give it a try this morning, was late getting out to lake, looked out over water and boats everywhere, hardly a soul on the bank. headed to back of lake where it is tad deeper, as closed in on area I wanted, must have been 6-8 boats there trolling around, immediatle saw a few catch trout, on my first lap got 2 bites as headed back around for second lap caught a nice big rainbow good 15-16 incher, must have missed half dozen more in next half hour or so then wind picked up and the fish stopped biting like you turn em off with a switch, got a few more bites over the next 45 minutes or so just slow trolling in big circle.
wind died down and they started hitting again, caught one small one and two big ones in next 15 minutes or so before the wind started up again, didn't bother me as I had my limit and the new hip was getting sore and stiff cramped up in my small boat. I have an 8ft basstracker two man pontoon type plastic johnboat. only weighs less than 100 lbs so I can still wrangle it in and out of my truckbed by myself, trolling motor batter is almost as heavy as the boat. If weather is nice may head out again in the morning, will try to get an earlier start if can get the wife up and ready on time...... fresh trout for dinner!!!!!!!!!!

Funny thing is that we didn't see any boats or fishermen in our cove Wed or Thurs. First time, other then during a blizzard in the dead of winter. The weather was good & I was concerned that the world stopped & nobody told us. 0 -
You inspire me hillbillie! Our states official trout season is still a few weeks away but there is much prep work for me to do in order to have a flawless first outing.
