Predictions 2020
1.) The stock market will go up, Americans have been told to save for retirement, many are putting 15-20% of their salary away. It has to go somewhere, most likely stocks so the market has no where to go but up. Boomers are outnumbered by Millennials so the boomers withdrawals will not exceed the Millenials inputs. If you are banking on a drop I think you will be disappointed.
2.) The Senate will not remove the POTUS and Donald Trump will win a second term. The vote will be razor thin and contested.
3.) Oil will go up, all the electric car hubub is still just that many people still want the fuel engines and we have not run out of oil.
4.) Food prices will increase substantially.
5.) Trump will add at least 30 new judges his second term, and two more SCOTUS justices.

#4 has already begun. Been to the super market lately? 0 -
Good predictions.
I would like to see the Trump tackle the deficit. That would really help the economy.
I think the market is going to have a rather large correction and its going to hurt Trump if it happens in 2020. I agree more are getting into the market but I also believe most stocks are way over valued.
Food and oil prices are going up because of the value of the USD.
I think we are going to get into it with Iran is some shape form or fashion, not a war but a little fight. Russian and China are playing nice with them and having naval maneuvers right now. These 3 countries realize the USN could destroy all 3 navy's easily.0 -
Trump can't tackle the budget without Congress & they are not willing to help. We need to vote RED across the board & get rid of the Democrats.
We can't sit on our butts saying my neighbor will vote I don't have too.
Get off your collective butts and VOTE.0 -

We all know I do not like, nor will I vote for, a democrat. However with the republican's assault on individual liberty, out of control deficit spending and voiced support for gun control explain to me how voting RED across the board is going to save us.0 -

I agree.
I have been voting almost a straight (R) ticket ever election since I started voting in 1978. The (R)'s had both houses and the POTUS! They threw it away. They could have done so much but they were either lazy or worthless.0 -

Sam maybe you can help me out as I am a financial neophyte. I would like him to tackle the deficit but not sure how he will accomplish it. As far as the economy how will reducing the debt help? If he raises taxes that sure won't help. If he cuts government spending that will put less money in the economy through the cutting of hand outs and government employment. I don't see how either of those will help.
like I said I am a neophyte when it comes to these matters. Hopefully you or someone else on here can educate me. Bob0 -
Just now heard on the radio how over paid some gov employees were. Town managers in Texas towns of 10,000 making $300.000.00 per year. School janitors in N.Y. over $110.000.00 (more than the school principle). Cal. life guards paid $300,000.00 per year. Boy if I was king for a week I would upset some apple carts.

I am with you Bob I don't see how he can do as its so huge(to use his words) but I think something needs to be done. It is so large now I believe it is a national security issue. Maybe a combination of tariffs, less spending, stopping some handouts to other countrys and arms sales along with oil exports can cut it down some. I really don't see why anyone would buy a Gov Bond you get a better return on a CD(which sux)0 -

Having control does not mean they get everything they want. It still takes 2/3rds majority vote to pass a bill. Having just over 50% majority won't get it without crossover votes. Thank god for the foresight our founders had. Otherwise majority rule would have gone wild.0 -

The democrats passed obamacare with a slim majority and the republicans failed to revoke it with their slim majority. Neither would have taken 2/3.0 -
I'd much rather have Trump sprinkling magic dust on our problems as this deranged bitch running things.

Now you're getting into a whole different animal. Budget Reconciliation which was used passing obamacare only requires a simple majority instead of the regular 60 votes it takes to pass a bill in the Senate. It can only be used when the bill has something to do with the budget.
And you can't blame that piece of work on our founders. That's something our leaders came up with in recent times. The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1981.0 -

That's right.
Some of the bills they tried to pass were so close - they almost made it.
Oh . . . wait . . . . nevermind.
I don't remember any bills they tried to pass that almost made it. In fact, I don't even remember them trying to pass some of the bills i was hoping for.0 -

Our founders had nothing to do with the super-majority cloture vote. That is a Senate rule that can be repealed with a simple majority vote. Please note that a lot of Trump's judicial appointments (including Kavanaugh who passed 50 to 48 with Pence casting the tie breaker) have been approved by simple majority. It is only a matter of time that it will be repealed on all votes if the tone in Washington DC does not change.0 -
I think the stocks will tank right before election so they can blame Trump, but I see him winning anyway, then the dems saying voter fraud and fighting it in the courts and dragging that out as long as possible, maybe even impeaching him again for voter fraud, or foreign interference, got a feeling it will get ugly...... and we will never get the full truth from the media either way 0 -
I predict that the sun will come up in the east, and set in the west. 0
