Used Brass - Any value????
I did a search but did not find anything. Could be my poor search skills.
Does used handgun brass have any value? I have 2-3 ammo cans full of used .45, 9 mm and some misc spent brass. In the past you could send it to commercial ammo reloaders and get a credit against the price of new ammo. I don't think anyone is currently doing that. Is it worth more than the shipping cost in this market?

Mostly It is sold sorted and cleaned on the auction side. A year ago when I moved from TX to Fl I gave away 3 5gallon buckets of pistol range brass.
My buddy called it Man vs. Brass and spent a month or so sorting and cleaning all of it.0 -
It's worth about a buck a pound for scrap. I just turned in about half a 5 gallon bucket and got almost $40 for it. 0 -
Check with your local recycle shop. Some buy it, some don't. It's about $1.60 per lb here.
I have at least 20 5 gallon buckets of range brass. Most separated by caliber. Sure messes with the eyes.
I use the brass for trading material.0 -
to the right person and right caliber, I used to get $5 for a ziplock bag of 100 or so........ at gun shows 0 -

I'd love to have about 4 or 5 five gallon buckets of mixed 9mm and .380 brass to sort though...NOT! That stuff will drive you nuts. 0 -
I went and checked and I have 15 pounds of sorted used brass. About 9#s is .45, 4 #s of .223, 1 # each of 9mm and 380. Found a local recycler paying $1.30 per pound. Plan to go see him next week.
Thanks again for the info.0 -
I've never shot at a 'shooting range' .. only field shooting. Since I no longer bother to reload any ammo (sold my reloading equipment about 10 years ago) never bother to pick up spent casings. 0 -
Contact Georgia Arms... They do trade in brass....

List it on the auction side, let me know where it is listed and I will buy 9mm and 45 all day for the right price. 0
