BALTIMORE (AP) ? Baltimore could wrap up 2019 with its highest per-capita homicide rate on record as killings of adults and minors alike for drugs, retribution, money or no clear reason continue to add up and city officials appear unable to stop the violence.
Police recorded 338 homicides as of Tuesday, following a week of relentless gunfire that saw eight people shot ? three of them fatally ? in one day and nine others ? one fatally ? another day. That total is up from 309 in 2018 and four shy of the 342 killings tallied in 2017 and 2015, the year when the city?s homicide rate suddenly spiked.
With just over 600,000 residents, Baltimore?s homicide rate would reach approximately 57 per 100,000 residents if the death toll reaches 342. That would eclipse the rate of 1993, when the city had a record 353 killings but was also much more populous.
By contrast, New York City, with more than 8 million residents, had 306 homicides through Dec. 15.
Police yellow tape and makeshift memorials with flowers, stuffed animals and balloons have become common in some neighborhoods of this deeply segregated city. Memorials can be found within blocks of each other at the same time.

I guess the segregation is why its mainly bl*ck people getting killed if there was less segregation it would give them a chance to kill more whites, asians and other nationalities.

Well, not just anybody can hold a gun sideways and be accurate. They'd rather have the cool factor as to being accurate. Plus it leaves them more people to shoot in the future if they don't kill them.
Now this is cool. Homeboy with hat flipped up, gun sideways, no shirt with underwear showing. I give him an A for effort but a C in presentation. He could have used the hat more sideways and his pants somewhat lower. And of course a gold grille always adds bonus points.

I would think that there are thousands who have been shot and not killed, plus many who have disappeared.

...and one of the head city Dem. delegates, Cheryl Glenn, (Looks like a grandma, talks like a mafia boss. She resigned abruptly last week before the indictment was announced.) Indicted for 33k plus in cash bribes over the last year or so to push thru marijuana legislation benefiting an out of state franchise applicant. Wait, not done with the WEEK yet. Also a city DPW supervisor, indicted for being bribed/paid for using city crews to install sewer and water utilities for a private contractor. That?s just the week?s indictments. There is also a former mayor-resigned after being charged/convicted of stealing gift cards donated for the poor during the holidays a few years back. This thief is running for mayor AGAIN! Been to Baltimore many times before my FIL moved to the Kentucky country.
I have never understood why anyone would live there.
We were there one Christmas for the family gathering. The FIL lived in a row house (silly way to live) and he owned several more. These are old-fashioned tiny houses that are 3 or more floors in height and about 8 feet wide. Haha.
Baltimore gun control was in full effect.
I was stationed by the door to introduce myself and collect hats for the closet.
Every gent that entered handed me his hat and "heater".

...found more than one face down over the years with a stovepiped casing that resulted from doing a ?Wesley Snipes? hold. A good number of them manage to take themselves out with a shot to the femoral artery while trying to draw from their ?dip?. 0
