I have been on Morphine/Oxycodone since cancer in 2010. Almost 10 years like your wife.
I do not take cholesteral medications.
However radiation for cancer killed my thyroid gland and i take 50mc of Levothyroxin in the mourning for my thyroid.
Radiation also killed my pituitary gland so i have to take Cortef 4 times a day to keep a chemical in my body so i do not pass out and die. I literally can not get scared. I do not get an adrenaline rush because nothing will happen. Its crazy.
What medicines does your wife take and what amount?
If you have any more ideas or thoughts of how to do things better let me know. Im always looking for a better way to get by. Im not really living but getting by and i would love to get to living again.
Thank you and prayers for you and the missus. I hope things are getting better for the both of you every day.
Just so you know if your wife is like me and on pain medication a pain level of 4 or 5 is a really good day. The times when she did not do this or do that cleaning was probably times when it was a crazy amount of pain.
I keep the house clean because i do not work and my wife does. My wife is an engineer at Cummins on new projects so she is stressed out a lot.
She might come home and i have done no house work or just vacuumed the living room. Or i might have cleaned most of the house. She knows it just depends on how i feel for the day.
Its crazy things like weather has a huge effect on how i feel.
Keep taking in your wifes problems and understanding her limitations. She appreciates it more than you will ever know. Being a care giver is harder than being a patient.
Prayers again for you and yours. David

I will once again caution members about their posting personal information in these forums: financial, medical and employment information- including a spouse. You guys are both grownups, so it is your call, but I see nothing positive about this sort of disclosure in an open forum. 0
