Holiday Scrooge
I hate it when holidays fall in the middle of the week working Tuesday all day only closing Christmas day and back open on Thursday.
Same as 4th of July falling on a weekday.
I think ALL holidays should just be moved to coincide with a weekend, front or back but tied to a weekend.
Rant over Merry Christmas, now get back to work!

Retailers, who are the driving force behind the entire Christmas holiday, would toss a fit if Christmas were to be celebrated today (Monday) instead of Wednesday. It would mean two less shopping days, and that would hurt their bottom line, especially with Thanksgiving having fallen so late. Celebrating Christmas on Friday would be welcome by retailers, who would have an additional two days to reach into your wallet. 0 -
Wouldn?t bother me a bit if Christmas just went away. I hate this time of year. Nothing but a cash grab and endless sales of crap I don?t really need or want. I did luck out that I?m working the graveyard shift tomorrow night so I?ll just have to miss the Christmas Eve party at my sister in laws house darn lol. I suck it up on Christmas morning for the kids but I?ll be glad when it?s done. 0 -

I think Christmas is too commercialized. It needs to get back to the true meaning, God giving his only begotten son so that we can have everlasting life. Now it's just about all the toys you can buy for the kids

Being retired it makes no difference to me what day is Christmas. When you are retired every day is like the weekend. As far as the commercial aspect the retailers are just giving the public what they want. Since they make the bulk of their profit this time of year I don't see one of them saying it's to commercial and not having the sales. I worked at a major sporting goods store for 11 years before I finally retired. I felt bad for the people who worked on holidays like thanksgiving. They liked it though because they got 8 hours holiday pay and double time for any hours they worked on that day. So in effect they got 3x normal pay. We usually sold more guns the black Friday weekend than almost any other time of the year and doing the log books was the only pain for me. For the last 9 years I think about the store when they have the big hunting sale and Christmas sales and kind of miss it. Then I come to my senses and roll over and go back to sleep. Bob 0
