Browning 1885 High-Wall 45-70

    I have a fella that wants to trade a Browning 2016 model 1885 (with crescent steel butt stock) for my SS Ruger Mini 14. I believe I'm inclined to do it.

    Truth is that I really have no use for either rifle but I think in the long run the Browning would be the better pick and a greater value.

    I've got a SS mini setting downstairs that hasn't been used in years , I'd do that trade real quick LOL

    I have a 270 Win in a High Wall and love it. A little on the heavy side though. The wood, bluing and fit on the rifle are excellent. Also have a Winchester Low Wall in 243 that is a sweet little rifle, trim, light and petite. The 1885's are equal to or better than a Ruger No.1 and the No.1 is a great rifle, I know because I also have one of those. Love the single shots. Anything made by Miroku is top of the line quality. I would trade without hesitation.

    I have one of the newer Winchesters in 38-55 great rifle I would trade him in a heartbeat

    I have this all original MIL spec Contract run Remington .model 1914 chambered in 8mm level (curiously one of my mosin nagant 91/30's was made by Remington for the czar (you le headed eagle crest and my Ross straight pull was made by O.F. Mossberg and sons and my obr 1915 lever action was made for. the czar and has the double headed eagle crest

    I have a nice modern reproduction rolling block in .30-30 and a duplicate in .38-55

    There are two Belgian pistol caliber baby rolling block clones and one Spanish pistol caliber copy

    But nothing I'm your league - nothing modern and exciting - no precision instrument

    My stuff is interesting historical fair - it you vents shame me.

    The Egyptian and US rolling blocks follow a near universal military contract spec - both are made by Remington in the US and we're major military export items - becoming ubiquitous and omnipresent almost perfect clones expect for bayonet lug and clambering...

    Also on of the most copied and clones stolen intellectual patent infringement cases of all time

    There are still brand new true to spec iterations being made today.

    I have a fancy gentleman 3/4 scale Belgian block take down carbine / a gas seal variant chambered in 7.62x38R that has some delightful and well executed elements...

    I have an affinity for military surplus arms as opposed to their commercial brethren.

    The uberti baby rolling block carbines draw enormous attention and admiration at the range - but the prices have kept up high and fast.

    I am considering having a complete and intact type 99 7.7 mm jap barrel on a complete howa high grade rifle with no barrel...

    Not certain which way to go cosmetically or aesthetically -

    Spins my gears though.

    So how does that steel butt stock feel on your shoulder ...... How do you think it would feel in 45-70 ?

    This one is not bad at all even with the Buffalo Bore Heavy 38-55 I was looking for one in 405 when I came across this one at the Tulsa gun show last year for a good price

    B78 in 45-70...beautiful....several uberti rolling block rifles and pistol.....mississippi classic rolling block in 357mag... i reload with spire point bullets to SAMMI max......shoot far, flat, & fast...for fun
