    Did anyone use those type snaps back then ? I'm also with you on the time period of the "pancake" style holster. Maybe it's a left over old style stamp someone picked up accidently ;)

    Nothing about that holster says 1919 to me. Could be 1980. There is no corrosion in or on the snaps, no cracking of the leather. The tooling is somewhat simple which is a style consistent with his work shown on the site, and the stamp appears authentic. I wonder if he did not later use his original stamp, perhaps for historic reasons or even nostalgia. Living in El Paso would make me long for other places.
