Question Regarding S.D. Myres Holster

I came across this holster a few days ago. It has a maker's stamp from S.D. Myres in Sweetwater, Texas. I thought that odd; all the Myres holsters I've seen were made in El Paso.

So, I found this site:

And these people seem to be pretty authoritative, and they state that Myres moved from Sweetwater to El Paso in 1919.

BUT...This holster doesn't look that old, and it is of a "pancake" design with a thumb-break strap. I thought the pancake design and the thumb-break came about in the 1960s or later.

It's a pretty holster, and I may end up keeping it, but I'd like to know its history.

    Looks nice to me, I'd bet its real from back then. Quality never goes out of style.

    Did anyone use those type snaps back then ? I'm also with you on the time period of the "pancake" style holster. Maybe it's a left over old style stamp someone picked up accidently ;)

    Nothing about that holster says 1919 to me. Could be 1980. There is no corrosion in or on the snaps, no cracking of the leather. The tooling is somewhat simple which is a style consistent with his work shown on the site, and the stamp appears authentic. I wonder if he did not later use his original stamp, perhaps for historic reasons or even nostalgia. Living in El Paso would make me long for other places.
