    Are they free?? Just how big are those things?? Would they work in the bore of a 12 ga. shotgun? I know the string would be too short but that's an easy fix and they might work great for cleaning the bore.

    I used to go to a beer joint that had an empty condom machine in the women's bathroom. Owner said he got several dollars a week from the machine and no one ever asked for a refund.

    If their free, clean them out and put them in your first aid / bug-out bag. Great for wound dressing.

    That would be maxi-pads, not tampons.
    btw: maxi-pads are great for waxing the car.

    I wouldn't shove anything into a deep puncture wound. Regardless of sterility the odds of infection go up exponentially.
    Best to cover with a pressure dressing bound just tightly enough to help stop/staunch bleeding.
