Shooting politics, not politics about shooting

I won?t name names but I?m a bit pissed off.

I have been shooting USPSA at basically 3 different ranges since moving to Florida.

My grievance is with the range I am enjoying the most.

In USPSA you have Divisions (Open, Limited, Carry Optic, etc) and within the divisions you have your classification (Grand Master, Master, A, B, C, D and Unclassified).

Unclassified means you have not shot that division enough times (6) to statistically fall into one of the classification buckets.

I switched from Open to Carry Optic a little after mid-year maybe even early August. So I had to shoot 6 matches that each had a classifier stage in order to get classified in my new division.

Well the range I have shot most of my classifiers at has not been paying USPSA- and if they aren?t paid for the classifier within 30 days it is as if it never happened.

I thought it wasn?t showing a classification for me in C/O because I hadn?t shot enough and I was aiming to get one more in this wknd where I would be certain I have shot enough classifiers to have a C/O classification going into 2020.

A big controversy kicked off with ppl tracking closer than me and it has come to light the range hasnt been paying USPSA and now many people are not shooting where they deserve to be.

So there are likely several dozen of us going into the first big level 2 match of the year in area 6 shooting unclassified. As this level 2 is the 1st wknd of January there simply isn?t time to even try and correct.

And of course in all of this- rumor has it a well known area GM has bought the troubled range and is looking to revamp it. So if I choose not to shoot there I am actually only hurting someone trying to help the sport. However- same faces running the place and same match director I have been told.

This would be like paying to take 6-8 different tests and none of them actually get graded.
