Gettin High Part II
Almost finished! Need to get a new puller, broke mine trying to pull the pitman arm, then I need to build a track bar bracket to get the front axle centered where it belongs. Springs, blocks and shocks are done, test fit of the tires complete, on the ground. She is PERFECT!!

It was all good until the last photo.
Then I went in to OMG mode.
Everything else looks good.
Lifted my 2010 Jeep Wrangler last fall. Similar arrangement. Beefier Coils, new shocks, etc. Liking it.

those were great old trucks, they seemed to last forever even when being abused in the woods,
reminds me of my youthful days.
390's had plenty of guts and dependability.

I do like the looks of the 70's fords especially when a lift kit has been put on . last ford truck I had was a 77 f 250 highboy 360 4 speed swapped in a 390 ( lifted from the factory ) and that was many years ago sold it around 1980 . after that it has been a long list of Chevy blazers and pickups
sadly here in Ohio any truck or car more than a few years old has so much rust even the bolts are are almost impossible to remove the salt and brine they dump by the tons on the roads. just has no mercy .0 -

They should, plenty of offset on the wheels. Can?t turn the wheels yet, broke my Harbor Freight puller trying to change pitman arms. Plus I have to lower the drag link bracket, right now the axle is 1? to the left, need to get ut centered by dropping the draglink.0 -

Looks great.
Just a thought, add some LED lights (light bar or pods). I use mine every night on my private road. Came in real handy gutting a deer last month.0 -

Is that a 4" lift?
I built a 77 F150 with a 400, 4 speed and a 4" lift in the early 80's I drove it for 15 years all over the US. Canada and Mexico. It was a short bed and would really go. It had a locking rear 9". I ran 35" TSL Super swampers on it. I had a bunch of 78 and 79 parts on it too. The 77 split draglink was garbage so I changed it to a 78 type. I miss that truck. I worked on it so much, I knew every little detail of it. I even had to rewire it and made my own wiring diagram. When I sold it I basically gave it away
Now I have a 74 Dodge Power Wagon and I lifted it about 2 1/2" with an extra spring. Its a 4 speed Granny low also.
You are right it is so much more fun to drive an old truck than these new soulless plastic trucks. I love my 05 Ford but I would rather drive the old Dodge any day.0 -

6? lift with 35? tires, it is taller than the ?91 I lifted 7? with 36? tires. I had 36? Super Swamper TSL Radials, awsome tire but they don?t last. This time I bought Cooper Discoverer ST Max tires, they had good reviews so we?ll see.
Working on cars is what kept me out of jail and off drugs. I know I?ve had over 100 vehicles, some would be worth a lot of money today. Multiple Trans Ams, 77s and 79s, God was I stupid. I can?t keep vehicles for long, this grey truck is just about the longest I?ve kept a vehicle.0 -

The blocks came set for raising the rear pinion angle, there is no way to correct the front0 -
In 1963 at West Point I dropped a 57 Corvette engine with three duces into my plain jane 55 Chevy. I used the mess hall meat hook that they loaded a side of beef off trucks to feed us troops. It was almost zero outside and my hands turned blue trying to line up those hangers. Yep, some of us get a great deal of satisfaction out of doing things the hard way, I guess. 0 -
