My Wifes 2008 Mustang Convettable
My wife bought a brand new Mustang convertible in 2008. My wife Theresa is an engineer at Cummins in new products. She has been there over 30 years. So she is not an average female when it comes to cars and trucks.
My wife believes in maintaining a vehicle. She will change her timing chain and everything else when its due or a little after.
When i get a new to me car all i can get is between 228,000 and 248,000 miles out of it. That is pretty good for a 2 to 5000 dollar car. By 248,000 they all break down and are cheaper to just junk them than fix them.
On the way to work Friday my wifes 2008 Mustangs transmission started to sing a death cadence. She made it to work and called her friend Brandi who runs a Ford dealership and they are looking at it today or Monday. When she drove it to the dealership Friday after work it went into limp mode and stayed there so it might be ok.
The Mustang has 298,000 and some change miles and looks almost brand new. She is fixing the transmission but bought a 2019 Ford SL or SE Escape for her everyday car now. Through work she got over 15,000 dollars off. They copied her id and stuff to get it.
I figured it up and she got 35% off the sticker of the Escape from end of year to a discount through work and this and that. Plus her friend is the manager which im sure helped. I thought getting a new car under 300 a month was gone but it happened. 298 and change but it still is under 300 lol. .09 interest helped.
Hopefully they will have the Mustang fixed next week cheaply.

Nice! Congrats I hope the new rig will provide just as good a value as the Mustang. 0 -
Owned a 1999 Mustang GT, 6 speed. Lots of mods to it. It was a bad ride. Miss it. 0 -
She is keeping her baby. We are already looking for a carport to cover it.
She might not have gotten the SE or SL the one she got is loaded minus the gps. she can plug her phone into the suv and the information comes out of the car.
I know it has dual air control, heated seats and useless stuff like that. I do like the seat and mirror memory. I hate having to set my seat and mirrors from my wifes. She does not use her mirrors at all. She turns and looks.0 -
