cool old oddities "Trap/Set Guns" etc
Anyone else? Please post a picture or 6 of your set gun, grave gun, window gun, watermelon patch gun, etc.
This is a very old, maybe Blacksmith made old 12 Gauge "Set Gun"
You would hang it in a tree, put a 12 gauge shell in it, rest the cast iron cap with firing pin on top of primer, slide the heavy cast iron block to the top and hook to "trigger". Bait the bottom of the square rod and put hook in bait.
Wait for a Bear or wolf to come along and help themselves and Kablooey!!
Barbaric as all hell, but still really neat!

These are quite interesting.
If not illegal it could be 3D printed and used as a one shot device.
Pics below aren?t mine.

I believe the Fur Getter is legal to own, just illegal to use. 0 -
"Fur Getter" --wow what a rarity. Being involved in firearms for 45 years and never seen one. What a trappers tool that would have been. Don' think I like the one with the rifle stuck in a tree, imagine the wear they got! 0 -
I guess it's good that use of these devices is illegal.
I can just see some stupid kid having to "try" it!!
Some guy in Illinois just got convicted and sentenced to 15 years for killing a thief with a rigged up shotgun in his "shed"
Was in todays paper.......0
