Dang fine stichin that doc did! PIC
Got some nasty ole Squamous cell cancer removed, Doc was very concerned about scaring I told him I would look like a real rogue if he did a jagged job on me but I think it will heal nicely. Can't say as much for the quarter size hole he took out of my scalp, they decided to leave that open, he said if he tried to stitch that one I might have a permanent smile!

Yep. Had the same hole on the top of my head. It fills in quickly but at one point I could balance a golf ball on my head.0 -

I?ve had a scar on my lower lip since I was 3 years old. I fell on a Maxwell House coffee can. The doctor sewed it up in his waiting room, no anesthesia.
The chicks dig it.

I don't think it's going to turn out bad, but you can use this to minimize it as much as possible if you wish. Start using as soon as it's healed over.

Just pop Vitamin e capsules and apply to the area after the stitches are out. I had 165 stitches in my scalp after another skier ran into me back in the early 90's. The Dr. did a great job, you can barely see the scar except in the summer since the scar tissue does not tan at all and I have sported the Mr. Clean do for over 15 yrs. Mrs. did the same treatment on all her breast cancer surgery scars. The Dr. quality does play into it. Some of hers are barely noticeable and some look like they gouged it out with a melon baller....
Your picture is a good reminder for all of us "seasoned" folks to visit a dermatologist every year. I know I'm overdue...0 -

In 50 years, you'll never even notice it.
I had a 1.5" scar across my left cheekbone from the first knife fight I was in. That was way back in the 60's. Over 50 years, it's become nearly invisible.
Below my left ear, I have a 12" scar from shrapnel(and it's removal) going under my left jawbone and all the way to my chin. It's no longer noticeable which is very surprising-that one was an even 100 stitches.0 -
Have a scar behind my left ear, just like that. (Same reason.)
Have a 1/2 dollar size circular scar on my left temple, taken down to the bone. (Same reason.) Pretty evident.
If asked about my scar on my temple, I say I was shot. :shock:
They usually shut up, at that point.

I had squamas cell carcinoma and it was stage 4 so do not play with it. Mine was in my mouth. How skin cancer got there i have no idea.
My dad had Moehs surgery which is probably what you had and i was in there with the doctor while he was working on my dad and we had a good time.
He removed so much of my dads face skin i was wondering how he was going to sew it back together. He just pulled everything tight and sewed it together and it held. I was amazed at what skin can stretch too and stick together. It was a hell of a face lift.
Please keep a good eye on it even though its just skin cancer it almost killed me. Less than a 10% chance and that was being generous to me.0
