Do You Mix -
Instant stuffing, in with your Cream of Mushroom, Cream of Chicken, Cream of Tomato etc. Soup? (All made with half and half, and butter, salt/pepper.)
If not, you should. (At least try it.)
Stove top is the best, but I bought two large packages of Pepperidge Farms, (Herb Seasoned, and Sage and Onion.) around Thanksgiving. Mixing it in with my last couple days soup. Awesome!
Have been doing this for a while. Completely makes/finishes it.
Give it a try. You will be pleasantly surprised/pleased.
Just a thought/insight, for those of you who cook.

Never tried that but our dressing doesn't last too long

so you stuff soup with dressing????? you must make yours a lot thicker than we do........ 0 -
so in effect you end up with stuffing with sort of a gravy mixed in? Bob 0 -
Ummm, no. I'll settle for a handful of crushed saltines or (better) tortilla chips. 0 -
Heathens. 0 -
I take a bag of Pepprich Farm seasoned cubes and add fried in butter onions and chopped celery. A pound of Jimmy Deans savory sage pork sausage (fried and drained), a can of Campbell's Cream of mushroom soup, mix it all together and stuff it in my whole chicken, turkey, split pork chops, or wild game bird.
Also great eating just baked on its own. Please pardon my spelling of Pepprich! Using phonics gets my meaning by without going to all the trouble looking up a word. OH wait!! Apologizing with a bunch of sentences takes longer than looking up the correct spelling!0 -
From a Box ???? WTF
Stuffing is made in the Bird
Dressing is made outside the Bird.
Yes we make stuffing from scratch. In the Bird, and yes we watch thew temperature.
Home made croutons, onions, celery and other goodies.
Dressing is Corn bread (what my wife likes) , using the drippings from the pan.
Can't wait........0 -
Oh Snap.
Now look what popped off.
 :?

You know I am not a big soup eater. I don't eat any Cream of XXXXX type soup, I though they were more for cooking other stuff.
I do like Tomato soup, I put milk in it and saltine crackers, I would not think dressing would be good but I may be surprised.
I like mashed potatoes in soup and rice but that is in a beef or chicken type soup.
My wife like chicken noodle soup but she picks all the chicken out before cooking it

Have done/do that as well. Stove Top "Dressing," is good in a myriad of dishes. Good spices, dried onion and celery etc.
Open your mind and explore.
I do not add so much "Dressing" to soup, that it is overly thick. Just the right amount.

I would probably like that instead of the old standby saltines.KenK/84Bravo wrote:11b6r wrote:Stovetop, mixed with an egg, some Worcestershire and ground beef makes a real good meatloaf
