My VA doc signed for me to get the handicap hunting and fishing license, in fact he was the one that brought it up.
I figure that 50 years of hunting licenses and lots of "yellow sheets" they know I have a gun.0 -

Most good ole boys,that work hard and get their hands dirty working for a living,especially in the south own guns and know its nobody's business what they own. 0 -
My Doc always invites me back to his private office after a visit to show me what new he's gotten and my opinions of each.....he has a damn nice collection too, stashed away in his desk & filing cabinets...knows how to use them too

My Doctor has a larger collection than I do. We talk guns everytime i go in. He just asked if I have any mosins I would part with. His brother is wanting one 0 -
OK, fine. Tell your doctor you own guns, then one day you may need anxiety meds, or something for depression. Then they come for your guns.
Myself, I was asked by my VA doctor if I owned guns and I said "Yes", I was later denied hearing loss compensation due to a mortar explosion on my left that was 4 feet away.
No Good can come of telling a doctor you have guns.0 -
During the dark years, I would continually get asked questions that probed my mental health.
'Do you feel safe in your house?' and similar questions to see if the health problems I was experiencing were causing me to think about suicide.
Firearm ownership came up, and if I remember correctly, my answer was something to the effect that it was none of their business, and while I appreciated their concern, if was seriously considering suicide it would have already been done.
Not sure what they wrote in the chart, but I was never asked those types of questions again.0 -

About once a year when going in for my annual VA checkup, they ask if you ever feel depressed.
My response is every time I don't win the Lottery!
NEVER had a doc ask if I owned firearms and if one did, would tell them what I own or don't own is none of their business.0 -

Well you better not be posting on these gun forums or any forum for that matter if you don't want anyone to know if you have guns or whatever. Just because you are using an alias to post means nothing. Anyone with a little computer knowledge can check your IP address and tell you where you live in just a few seconds. If you've ordered any gun related items on the Internet it's out there for anyone in the government to look at or if you've bought anything on your credit card no matter what it is the government can check it if they want to. You have no secretes.
My youngest son is a computer whiz and works for a large computer company in Seattle. His wife got a couple of threatening E-mails from someone last year. My son had the guys address in matter of seconds and took a picture of the guys house from Google maps and E-mailed him back with the picture of his house attached and told him if he ever heard from him again he would be getting a visit. That was the end of that.0 -
I'll tell anyone I own firearms, the government already knows I do, it's no secret but asking me where they're located then I'll take that as intruding into my "personal" business.....only a few know the answer to that and they ain't talking 0 -

I DO understand the "Do you feel safe in your home?" question. But I have always thought it was really, REALLY stupid when they are trying to get the bleeding stopped from your last WHOOPS! moment. "For Christ's sake- does THIS look safe to YOU???"0 -

You've been wronged and need to appeal that. As long as you can provide evidence that your hearing loss or tinnitus occurred while you were serving i the military, it doesn't matter HOW the loss occurred. Firearms, mortar rounds, drill sergeants yelling in your ears... it doesn't matter.
If you had your hearing tested AFTER you left the military, then too bad, you missed your opportunity. But if any of your military records show hearing loss (even slight and "normal") or tinnitus, then you need to appeal the VA decision and get the disability you deserve.0 -

I had mine checked 28 years after I got out, one of my brothers had his checked 45 years after he got out and we both got comp for hearing lose, we both own guns and always have. 0 -
