A trucking giant just filed for bankruptcy ? and it could leave nearly 2,900 truck drivers stranded.
Damn, is Amazon gonna be the only trucking company left?? This is very concerning to me. We need the trucks and drivers and it looks like they aren't getting any more respect than our cops.

Celedon became a publicly traded corporation and lost their identity as an actual trucking company. At some point they became servants of shareholders not servants of their customers and so their customers went elsewhere.
They have recently had executives charged with Fraud and a litany of other bad management strategies and decisions. I remember when truckers were the knights of the highway, modern cowboys, true gentlemen.
I remember when rail freight was THE way to ship.
About half the drivers I see look like muslim terrorists.
Truck driving is a major occupation around here since farming has failed.
And some of those folks should not be driving a farm tractor much less a semi.
All interstate highways need to be 3 lanes, minimal, each direction and trucks forbidden in the left lane.
It appears Celadon is the victum of incompenent/greedy/crooked management.

They said on the news today that if your an owner operator leased to them by law and contract you have to deliver your load even knowing you will never get paid. If your a company driver, park your truck in a secure area, hide keys , take pictures of truck with key location and send to company.. then walk away and get home best way you can... personalize I would be having a parking lot sale.. be a good time to have a trailer full of TV?s 0 -

Hello, please find enclosed the photo of the location of your truck and the keys. The truck is located about 50 feet below the surface. The keys are approximately 100 yards to the Southwest sitting on the bottom under the water. Have a nice day.0 -

This is becoming a plague in the industry, and Amazon is a root cause undercutting load prices. 2019 is being called the "Trucking Bloodbath", and don't see it ending yet. It ticks me off these company owners can get away with what they're doing to these drivers. Within 24hrs after filing, any truck not accounted for is reported stolen, and they're all on satellite tracking. Laws passed by the swamp dwellers that got campaign contributions to do it.0 -
Yes the truck is there in the parking lot. Pretty sure the tires, fuel, batteries, hand cart, pallet jack, all lost. And that parking lot would be very close to my house. 0 -

There has been a bunch of trucking companies close shop in the last 12 months, two other major players were Falcon and NEMF. A lot of smaller companies are gone now but they don?t make national news like Celedon did. That company had a lot of issues, kicked off trading due to misrepresenting income, restructured loans and finally fell off.
It?s easy for those not involved to believe news stories about driver shortages and truck shortages, it simply is not true, there is a surplus of trucks.
The major players prey on those needing employment woth promises of free training and easy money. They force people to sign contracts for school and deduct the cost of school, it isn?t free. The pay at these large companies is low, too much down time and nobody wants to drive so they need more immigrants, more down and out folks and because of this they scream DRIVER SHORTAGE begging for fresh meat. There is no driver shortage, just a shortage of fresh suckers.
The feds and the rediculous rules have forced many experianced drivers off the roads. One of the reasons I quit had to do with the ELD mandate on the 17th of this month. If you think allowing the government to have access to satalite tracking of trucks then you are not a real American, I will NOT BE TRACKED LIKE A DAMN CRIMINAL!
There is so much wrong with the trucking industry, rates ate in the toilet, too many trucks, the heavy handed federal control of trucking, cost of fuel and extremly high taxes will bring even more companies to their knees.0 -
The government is excellent at creating a crisis so the politicians can tell the people there is a crises and they are needed to solve the crisis.
It's a round robin and has been since near forever.0
