Lesson: Buy a home and stop throwing money away on rent.

I have folks as old as myself still renting. Most times the credit for folks is ruined when young or they miss manage their monies.. or they never save enough for a down payment and closing. Having eviction records for non payment doesn't help. Then you get folks saying... well I don't have the maintenance of a home or insurance or taxes to pay. BTW... this tenant just got himself a new car. Priorities.

The tenants keep rising in America. I have helped folks get a home by writing a credit letter to their banks. I have also helped them leave properties they don't want to pay for. Actually purchasing is cheaper than renting. However getting over the hump to get the monies to purchase is the problem. Far too many spend money faster than they make it.

I think one of the best things to have when purchasing a home is the knowledge to fix anything that may break/need fixing, having the money to buy is one thing but if you are a person who cannot touch anything without breaking it you may need to keep renting, being able to repair things yourself will save you a lot of money,,, I tried to teach both my kids this with homes and cars, as I get older I tend to pay others to fix the problems now, but I would never had gotten to where I am without the know how and ability to fix most things myself......

"I have folks as old as myself still renting".............some just don't want to be 'tied down' to one location either. I have one son that has moved 4 times in 10 years.

Used to know a deputy Sheriff that had to serve different papers. He kept a staple gun in the car- service nailed to the door was acceptable service.

I am an old poop- our grandkids are adults, and have gone thru buying that first house. For a housewarming present they get a basic set of tools and a closet auger for the toilet. And yeah, I DO get those "Grandpa, how do you fix....." calls. I rather enjoy them.

It is here also. However posting on door is in two phases... Ist posting. Then Deputy has to come back 56 hours later and post again. Then the tenant has 21 days to get out or answer court. Then they set up a hearing a week later and won't appear. Then the writ of ejectment is posted by Deputy 24 hours to vacate or be set out. Hand service is 10 days to answer court. Hearing and all 14 days usually.

Around here, the judge won?t evict a single mother, even if her boyfriend secretly lives there.

Some states have a terrible eviction process.

I always pictured you rolling up on some renters shack in your super charged Intimidator Camero with a NASCAR #3 hat and a seersucker suit to serve those rent stealers and squatters

Man you busted my bubble having a girl do it ;)

I cannot serve my own evictions per state law.
