    I appreciate the history and the rarity. I would love to physically hold them, look them over with a magnifying glass to truly see the engraving. Running my hands over that great wood would be special also.

    I wouldn't be interested in owning them even if I had the money to buy them. I would be terrified of something happening to them.

    Kinda like a Victoria's Secret model. I would love to look one of them over up close and personal but I'll let someone else deal with the headaches of having one in their life!! :lol::lol::lol:

    Yeah, that looks about as real as his other faked up guns, boxes, and paperwork. I guess as long as there's a sucker that'll bid, and GB gets their fee, the scam artist will never be banned.

    Before I spent that kind of dough on those, I'd be more inclined to save a little more and go with an original 1873 Rifle "One Of One Thousand".
    I've been lucky enough to see and handle one a while back at the Denver Gun Show.
    Fabulous Rifle and amazing gun show!
    I also was able to handle an original Colt Walker and Patterson.
    And see Al Capones Platinum Pocket watch at the same show.

    I could point out a half dozen things wrong with his auction, Bert H. could probably triple that. That would be doing him a favor, to better fake up his next auction. He use to use other user names in the ATE forum to post one he was getting ready to auction. After someone would tell him what was wrong with the gun, it would show up later with the fakery screw ups corrected. Tried the same thing on the WACA Forums and quickly got exposed.
    As to his A+ rating, they are either the dumbest morons ever to be suckered, or shills, and notice a couple are repeat buyers. Also notice if they were real collector Winchesters, those buyers would be WACA members, or at least known to them.
    Shame on GB auctions for allowing this scam artist to continue selling here.

    Joe, a couple of times I know of, and I know Bert has, and he wasn't polite about it. This guy has been on here under several user names, and always around the same location, Jamestown, Sonora, etc.

    In a real auction house auction the items may be inspected and at that dollar range may be researched by the auction house to determine authenticity. Here you pays your money and takes your chances. Bob

    Made me think of that guy that was selling out of Eagle,ID. faking high dollar Mauser sniper rifles. He had a good set of stamps, but not the knowledge of exactly how and where they were stamped. The guys that do exposed him, but they keep the secret of the stamping application. Haven't seen him active in a long time. The last guy he burned lost $6K, makes me wonder if someone didn't plant him somewhere with one of his fake sniper rifles.
    Some of these forgeries are getting so good, you better know your snit before you lay down thousands of dollars on it.

    I've heard stories of the same old Special order Winchester with letter owned by multiple parties at the same time! 2-3 guns with the same serial number? I don't think so.....Or Guns of a particular model with like serial number "1" change configurations over the years...... ;)
