joining the ATV community
I ordered a 2020 Honda Rubicon 520 DCT/EPS yesterday...hoping it will arrive before Christmas....they had to get it from another region, coming from Georgia. So Allen get your ass in gear and get me my new toy!!! I was on my way to Winston Salem to buy a 2019 but stopped at a local dealer on the way and ended up ordering a 2020 with the bigger motor.

Oops,I reported your post..lol...I have a yard trailer I use with my mower so that'll work!! I do need a snow plow and a winch though.0 -
We started with similar machines 25 years ago. Those machines were OK for what they were but gradually the size and capabilities increased and my ability to get a leg over the seat decreased so now we run SxS UTV's. 0 -

You can?t go wrong with a Honda. I still have a 450 Honda Foreman bought new in 1999. Never had a bit of trouble with it. 0 -
Yeah hence why i went with Honda, not the fastest, but the most over engineered, the only one with a true automatic gear driven transmission instead of CVT with a belt. Likely to be my only ATV purchase so wanted one that will last. 0 -

There is a guy who lives down the road from me who has a nicer 4 wheeler than the truck he daily drives. He was riding his foowheela around up and down my road drinking beer. I stopped him and talked to him and I asked how much he paid for his foowheela and I was blown away at what they cost.
I am not a big fan of them but I am not a hater. I like a dirt bike, more fun.0 -

Oh I'd like to have a dirt bike too, but I can't really do utility oriented things with a dirt bike. I can use this to plow snow, drag firewood out to my truck to load, and have fun with it.0 -
Great choice, good looking machine. Honda makes a proven ATV that you will get many years of enjoyment from. We have had three ourselves, one foreman and two ranchers, my son currently has one of the ranchers. Be careful and be safe on it. If you ever get back to Southern WV the Hatfield McCoy trails are a great place to ride. 0 -
My wife is from Logan, her family has a Funeral Home there. So I've ridden my BILs ATVs on the Hatfield McCoy trails. That was my intro to ATVs. I'm surprised I survived it to be honest...lol 0 -
Everyone from 8 to 80 has an ATV in West by God Virginia. It?s the most ATV friendly state in the Union.
Ride by someone?s house in WV and they wave at you. In Virginia, they call the law.
Helmets? They don?t need no steenking helmets. Drivers license? Pfft.
One of the most gun friendly states, also.

Heck Yea!!! Nice looking machine! You did good. I am not sure what area you are from, but I think its fairly close to where I recently bought land. I bought 55 acres right beside my Dads place that is 44 acres. Its in SW Virginia in Smyth County. A little place called Rich Valley that sits between Walker Mountain and Brushy mountain. We have always bought Honda and you are correct, they are over engineered and that's why they last so long. Every farm around Smyth County has them and sometimes several. Great tool on the farm. Dad recently got a Polaris Ranger that easier for him to get in and out of. Best of luck with the Honda! Don 0 -
Yep, I know where Rich Valley is. We scrimmaged them in high school football. The nose guard had a beard that stuck out past his face mask. Every time I centered the ball, it had cow poop on it. The mowed the field with cattle.
My father in law?s folks were from Saltville.

Dated a Smokin' hot Redhead after she moved from Mtn City, to Saltville, after I graduated. (She was a Sophomore/I was a Senior.)
Came down for multiple years on my motorcycle, while in the Army, (from W. MD. ) in order to see her/go out with her.
Lots of stories there.0 -

KenK- where are you located? I've read a few of you posts and IIRC, you are near the Bristol area? Not a lot of folks on these boards from that area. I may end up building a house on the land I bought and retiring there. Much cheaper taxes than here in Chesterfield. All of my family are from that area. Smyth, Tazewell, Wise, Grundy, Russel and Washington. Don 0 -

You won't regret getting the honda. They are pretty much indestructible.
My old Honda Forman 500 is a snow plow and trailer tow vehicle. I work it hard and play it hard.
My nephew rolled it in the Bighorns and broke the frame. Welded it up and still going strong.0 -

Started on dirt bikes 50 years ago . Don?t do much riding now a days but still have a Yamaha Timberwolf 250 for deer hunting It is a 1995 that I bought used in 1997 0 -

Congratulations.
At 60 years old, I couldn't imagine hunting without having access to an ATV. Just to drag animals and to take gear in and out of the woods and field.
Buddy has a Kubota Diesel UTV and we take it elk and deer hunting in Montana. That machine is nothing but impressive!

I've been riding ATV's, (Honda & Yamaha). For the last 12 years. Nothing beats them, for treking out into the boonies. Just be careful, specially on hills, and broken ground. I've gone sphincter over teakettle, probably half a dozen times. Mostly out of stupidity. Just remember when you go down. There is nothing between the rocks and you, but you. Ride safe. 0 -
