White Christmas
Scrooge- 1952 Alistair Sim version
It's a wonderful life
For the younger guys A Christmas Story is a fav. I did not care for it personally.
Singing in the Rain is always appropriate.0 -
No idea why the stores play Christmas music starting before Thanksgiving...and no idea why the TV shows Christmas shows starting before Thanksgiving.
Maybe two weeks before Christmas would be OK but starting before Thanksgiving is way, way to early. By the time it's December 10th, so sick of them wish it was January 15th.0 -

Though I like Die Hard, I never considered it a Christmas movie.
I like the old classics like, The Bishop's Wife (Cary Grant version), Miracle On 34th Street, Scrooge (the musical with Albert Finney) It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol (Alister Simm), An American Christmas Carol (Henry Fonz Winkler) Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (Burl Ives).0 -
I allways like bing crosby's singing so white christmas ranks right at top, after the mentioned old movies I do like the christmas with the Kranks? for a newer comedy. 0 -
Well, Die Hard does happen at Christmas and it begins with the only Rap song that I like; Christmas in Hollis by RUN DMC.Brookwood wrote:Though I like Die Hard, I never considered it a Christmas movie.

It isn't well known, but Jimmie Stewart was suffering from a severe case of what we'd now call PTSD when he made A Wonderful Life. The depression scenes when he is considering suicide weren't acting. He was. 0 -
Terry Pratchett's Hogfather - available free on Amazon Prime and also on youtube.
Holiday movie with insane assassins, wizards, the Tooth Fairy, DEATH, and some very interesting deep philosophy. What more could you want?0 -

So I was watching "Lethal Weapon 1" Director's Cut in that 4 movie collection and I saw a milk man delivering to a house (near Murtaugh's) and that was in the '80s in L.A. When did they stop door services?
Quick&Dead - Walking in to Walmart in October it's like "Nightmare Before Christmas"

.
Brookwood - Dude you need to watch it again. "Die Hard" is so Christmas movie.
llama - "Hogfather" huh? I saw that on wiki and I thought it was about Harley.0 -

Today being Friday I'm gonna watch "Friday After Next". Maybe I'll pick up a few 40s. 0 -
The only thing worse than old Christmas movies are political ads 0 -

Watching "Friday After Next" without watching the other two was strange. Even the 40 of Mickey's felt out of place (I know I should've had Olde E but I didn't want to be that cultural appropriation guy). I think I'll try and find "Go" and another movie I might have on that Christmas movie list. If I don't find it right away I'll see what I haven't watched in my Christmas movie box. 0 -

After over 70 years of seeing those old 'Christmas Movies" like it's a wonderful life, etc. and hearing the same old Christmas songs over and over and over and over ..............I don't care to hear or see any of that anymore.
I don't listen to the radio (haven't for years) and when one of them come on the TV, change the channel.
Sadly, some retail establishments blast it away from before Thanksgiving until mid January. I can whip that however, simply turn off my hearing aids.

Couldn't find "Go" but I did find "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang" pretty quick. It's a odd movie with Robert Downy and Val Kilmer. It does take place from one Christmas to the next. So that's in my Christmas movie pile now. I was looking for "Better Off Dead" since I think that also took place around Christmas? But I didn't find that. I did find "Serendipity" another movie on that list that takes place around Christmas. That movie ain't got nothing on "Love Actually".
Anyways I watched "Christmas In The Clouds" a movie about Christmas with Native run hotel/resort. Personally I thought they wouldn't celebrate the oppressor's god's birth but I guess they do. I also watched "Last Holiday" with Queen Latiffa it's too bad I don't see her working much. Being that she's funny. "Taxi" was a meh but "Bringing Down The House" was hilarious.
Well I'm gonna try to locate "Better Off Dead" so I can learn from the little kid how to pick up loose women.0 -
How about Ice Harvest?
John Cusak and Billie Bob Thornton
Dark humor
Some hysteric parts!0 -
gearheaddad - I was looking for that, too but my collection has been a mess for years now. I got a little while to find it before the G and PG rated movies about Christmas takes over. I am looking forward to Krampus movie marathon. This year I got "Shatner" in one of those Krampus movies.
I did find "Better Off Dead" and it does have Christmas bit but I don't think it has enough to be kept in the Christmas movie box. It's a toss up between a sports or school related movie box.0 -
I just dug up another favorite that I hadn't seen in years. "The Homecoming" which started it all for "The Walton's" TV series. 0 -
Found "Ice harvest". I remember it being like "Fargo"? So long ago I don't remember so it'll be like seeing it new. 0
