Kitchen sinks

Mr. Perfect
Anyone here have experience good or bad with Rohl kitchen sinks? If so, let's discuss. If not, discuss anyway?

    I just did a quick search & found out they are way out of my league on price .
    I've never heard my son the plumber mention that brand so I guess they don't get used much in the area he works.

    What is the one you are looking at made of?

    I have a Blanco silgranit sink in the kitchen and I like it. Its white and I have to clean it with Barkeepers Friend weekly or it looks kind of stained/dirty. This is in addition to cleaning it with soap daily.

    I have a Fireclay sink in my bathroom and its nice, easy to clean and looks good. It is a farm type sink but I cannot recall the brand.

    My wife has a copper sink in her bathroom. It looks really good but its a PITA to keep clean and stain free.

    Had to google them . As said way out of my price range . Never installed anything even close to that when I was plumbing

    I prefer a basic stainless steel sink, or an enameled cast iron; both of which can be had for fairly reasonable prices.

    Have had the cast plastic/cast stone sinks in the past, and while we may have had a cheaper version, both would eventually show stains.

    I had to look that brand up. I also had to look up Fire Clay. Looks like a very nice sink!
    We have a Kohler Cast Iron enameled apron front farm sink.
    Looks similar to the Rohl.
    We do like the large sink, and get a lot of compliments on the sink!

    I prefer stainless too, but not for a farm sink. I think we'd be cleaning/polishing the front way too much. My wife is worried about a cast iron sink rusting. Can't say that I am not concerned about that too.

    We are looking at fireclay.

    I've seen many cast item bath tubs that are still fine after 100 years; if installed properly, there should be no problem. But, with a sink approaching 100 lbs, a farm sink is the only one that wouldn't worry me; under counter mounting that much weight would be problematic.

    However, for a kitchen sink, I recommend stainless steel. If you drop a glass in a cast iron sink, it's gone; SS has a lot of "bounce", & will forgive a lot. Plus, the removable SS rack (1" grid) makes it easier to stack dishes.

    I prefer to put the extra money into a Moen or other top-of-the-line faucet. More bang for the buck.

    the bathroom sink now was the kitchen sink when this ol house was built about 115 years ago....the BIG ol clawfoot cast bathtub is still here....can you guess when one is single how big a party one can have in one of those ?????? they hold enuff warm water friday to last till monday

    They look like nice sinks. When we did the kitchen remodel we went with a Kohler enamel cast iron undermount, large single bowl. Reaaly like it for several reasons one being the under mount, second being that it is enamel. Easy to bruch things into the sink and being enamel it never stains.

    Sink is now 13 years old and still looks as good as new.

    Really? you wash your hands and do business at the sink for more time than anything else you do ?

    Yep! The money "saved" is soon forgotten when you have to live with something cheap that you dont like
