Never would have thought to put beautiful and pigeon in the same sentence, kimi.

That, however, is a beautiful pigeon.

Pigeons have been called flying rats.

'tis not unheard of for evil to be beautifully packaged. ;)

I'm kind of a bird guy. Used to duck hunt alot down on the Ill. river. Had an albino Coot (garbage bird, but still) frequant the area for years. Then one night in a local bar this guy brags about shooting a white Coot. I had all I could do not to walk over to him . . . . :x

There are quite a number of very beautiful pigeons and doves. Band Tails are nice. You should see some of the fruit doves and pigeons from Oz and the South Pacific. Some pretty ones in Europe and the middle east. The introduced blue rock dove (church pigeon) we are all used too, is one of the least attractive of the family.

There really are a lot of beautiful pigeons and doves, Dale. The Band Tail was a huge treat for the wife and I...nothing quite like getting up in the morning, pouring a hot cup of coffee, and being greeted by the sight of wild birds, a squirrel, or some other type of wild animal in your backyard. I think many of Rock Pigeons are pretty, too. I've raised a great many types, and one of the most majestic birds that I have had was a French Carneau. He was a beautiful shade of a reddish brown.
