stupid biased reporting
first thing up this morn was some pencil head ranting about how stores are causing all the health problems in America....ranting about all the sugar drinks, the unhealthy stuff there that is the cause of all our health issues.....AND had a big shot of a dollar general store to blame.... HORSE APPLES......we in our small town have a renovated and expanded DG that we shop at and it saves a 50 mile roundtrip to a larger town... we get lofat milk, wheat bread, protein drinks, eggs, salmon, talapia, canned fruit & veggies, dried fruit & veggies, frozen veggies, cheese, FRESH meat, healthy cereal, nuts, etc, etc......it is the SHOPPERS choices NOT the store larder that makes the difference...junk food is in EVERY short stop, handi wipe, in and out , and quik shop, gas station in the nation.......for stupid shoppers or smart......and so are stupid biased reporters........

Agreed.
It is a lot like blaming manufactures and government for people buying Chinese products.0 -
I wish I had bought stock in Dollar General years ago. They are filling a niche after Walmart wiped out the local general stores.
Sam Walton said ?You don?t have to be the cheapest, you just have to get there first.?
Guess what? He didn?t get there first.
They save people a lot of gas not having to drive to the Walmart in the next town.0 -
Personal responsibility is a thing of the past. It is always someone else that is to blame. In our outrage society we have to constantly blame someone else for our own shortcomings and to keep the masses entertained. Bob 0 -

A couple recently opened local DG's are looking for Managers. I am imminently qualified. (26 years high volume Retail experience.) Trying to decide, if I wish to do the 7 day a week, weekends, holiday endeavor.
Not attractive thus far.0 -

Not attractive thus far.
Theoretically DG store managers work 48 hour 6 day weeks. In practice they are on call 24/7
I was just a shift manager and I got calls when the alarm system malfunctioned.0 -

That is Exactly, why I am not very interested. I've worked for a Co. (EMS) That wanted to pay you for 40, but expected you to be there for 60. No thanks.0 -
Become an independent business OWNER and soon you are working 60 hours a week, weekends and holidays plus you are on call 24/7/365.
