Got me some Twinkies, so
It's "Die Hard" time. Let's see how far I'll get.
I took out the frozen corn beef last night o it should be thawed, so throw it in the pot and go on a marathon. I went with the "classic" since "Die Hard" is a classic. I'll have to get more Twinkies when "Zombieland 2" comes out.

It's been years since I had Twinkies. Like before the went belly up. I know they're smaller but it tastes different but then again maybe I'm remembering it wrong. I used to like their "pies" maybe I'll try them?
Anyways seeing "Die Hard" I wonder if they had HR way back then? Gas prices at .80 cents in L.A. also in "Die Hard 2" the wife was looking at a magazine with "Lethal Weapon" ad I thought that was interesting. I need to see when "Lethal Weapon" came out or maybe the director has a finger in that? I wonder what other "Easter Eggs" I missed?
Strange I forgot they made 5. Somehow I thought 4 and 5 were one movie. I also heard they're making 6. I hope they go back to "Christmas" movie and not like #3,4 and 5.0 -

I tried them a while back. They do taste different. Not as good, different filling for sure.0 -

I dont generally go to the store, but did one day last week ... they had chocolate covered Twinkles ... they was pretty good, but i was scared to check the shelf life :shock: 0 -
None of the resurrected Hostess products I tried was worth a second try. 0 -
I used to like the Hostess crescent shaped pies. Blueberry, and cherry were my favorites. Always bought them on the run going somewhere and ate them on the road in the car.
The last time I had one, I had already made it home from someplace and had the time to read the ingredience list on the back of the pie. It was very small printing and was a VERY long read. It would take a pretty advanced sized chemistry set to reproduce one of those things!! That and the calorie count which nearly filled a big mans entire daily dose gave me cause to give them up.
It was that hardened sweet sugary coating that covered the crust of those pies that I remember and miss the most. It must have been some kind of highly addictive dope! Cold turkey for me! Nevermore quote The Raven. 8-)0 -

we used to get them in at the store after they sold out and moved to mexico, the cardboard tray the pies came in would actually have grease stains in the bottom and the pies sometimes would be blobs of goo in the individual packs..... :?0 -
